Sorriso
Sorriso (Megan) started with Capoeira Hawaii in 2004. After growing up in California and attending UCSD, Sorriso moved to Honolulu and earned a Masters degree in Public Health Epidemiology from UH.



"I love that I can laugh and have fun while learning a martial art at the same time. And the camaraderie is great...I met some of my best friends in class."


Mulher Gato
Mulher Gato (Kathlyn) began taking Capoeira in 2006 as part of Capoeira Hawaii's ASPE program at Punahou School. Now a regular student, she enjoys the strength building and musical aspects of Capoeira the most.



"I've grown to love Capoeira Hawaii because of the warm environment and supportive people. It's like a family."

Tia
Tia (Charlene) joined Capoeira Hawaii in 2001. Born and raised in Honolulu, Tia (a teacher) loves playing Capoeira music, and enjoys learning and playing Capoeira with her daughter (a paralegal).



"PE was my worst subject in school, but Capoeira has strengthened my body, and keeps me feeling young. And the other students are always encouraging."
