Contra
Mestre Entrada (Rod Ussing) first studied Capoeira under Mestre Amen
in Los Angeles in
1992.
Upon moving
to Hawaii in 1994, he founded Capoeira
Hawaii as the first Capoeira academy on the island of Oahu.
Over the
years in Hawaii C.M. Entrada worked extensivly with Mestre Beiçola
of Rio de Janeiro, who is now based in Palo Alto, California. Entrada
received the degree of Contra Mestre from Mestre Beiçola in
2004
C.M. Entrada has
also trained in Brazil, most recently in 2004 where he, among others,
trained with Mestre Touro, founder of Corda
Bamba in Rio de Janeiro who is also the Mestre of Mestre Beiçola.
In
addition to training students at Capoeira Hawaii, C.M. Entrada
teaches Capoeira at Punahou School, and has taught
classes and
workshops at many others, including the University of Hawaii,
Kamehameha School, Mid Pacific School of the Arts and the YWCA of
Oahu.

Professor
Pesado
Pesado (Paul) started training in Capoeira with Capoeira Hawaii in 1999,
and
has been teaching Capoeira since
2003. He is
a very powerful Capoeirista, and attained the rank of "Professor"
in 2006. Pesado is also a lifeguard and ex-Navy diver, and holds a degree in
Journalism
from UH Manoa.
Boa
Sorte
Boa Sorte (Richard) has been with Capoeira Hawaii longer than any other
current
student.
Boa
Sorte started Capoeira in 1998 and has become a very skilled Capoeirista. In
addition to his Capoeira skills, Boa Sorte holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Risadinha
Risadinha (Victor) began with Capoeira Hawaii in 1999. As a Capoeirista,
he is known for his quick reflexes and dizzying spinning moves. A local Kaneohe
boy, Risadinha is an F-15 aircraft technician
in the Hawaii Air National Guard at
Hickam AFB.
Sorriso
Sorriso (Megan) joined Capoeira Hawaii in 2004. She is an accomplished Capoeirista,
and teaches the schools "women's only" classes. See also Sorriso's

Vovô
Vovô (Brian) has been training at Capoeira Hawaii since 2004. He most enjoys
teaching beginners the basics of Capoeira, from fundamental movements to roda
